CFP: Dalhousie Graduate History Society Conference

Dalhousie University Logo

The Dalhousie Graduate History Society is accepting proposals from undergraduate and graduate students in all academic disciplines for its 2025 student conference, to be held at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday, May 3. Further details on the location and timing of the event will be announced to accepted applicants. This conference will be hybrid, so those who wish to attend virtually are welcome to apply.

This conference serves as an open forum for students from a wide array of disciplines to share their research and methodologies with other interested researchers. The theme for the conference is Cross-Cultural Encounters and Exchanges. Proposals exploring social, economic and political interactions between diverse groups of people across the world and in any time period will be considered. We ask that faculty encourage their undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals and share this opportunity with other interested parties.

Please submit a 250-word presentation proposal along with a 1-page CV or 200-word statement about yourself to the GHS at daluniversityghs@gmail.com. Applications must identify if the student will be presenting a poster or participating in a panel. Panels will be assembled thematically after all submissions have been accepted. Poster presentations will be conducted during an open-forum period while panels will require structured PowerPoint presentations and a round of questions from the audience.

Proposals will be accepted until the end of the day on February 14, 2025. Notices of acceptance will be sent on March 14, 2025, and the conference will be held on-campus and virtually from Dalhousie University on May 3, 2025.
