Journal of the Canadian Historical Association

JCHA Cover #30.1 READ THE JOURNAL ONLINE

The Journal of the Canadian Historical Association / Revue de la Société historique du Canada is published by the Canadian Historical Association with the financial assistance of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and is a continuation of the earlier series, Annual Reports and Historical Papers of the Canadian Historical Association (1922-1965) and Historical Papers (1966-1989).

Throughout its history, the Journal has had a continuous objective: to publish the best article-length works of original historical scholarship arising out of the annual conference of the Canadian Historical Association and made available to its editorial board. The Editors will also accept submissions that were not presented at the CHA Annual Meeting. At the end of the initial review by the editorial board, the articles are subjected to peer review. To this end, the board has sought out and published papers in all fields of history, in French and in English, and representing all approaches to the discipline.

Call for Papers - JCHA, Volume 31, Number 1 & 2

The CHA Annual Meeting will not take place this year following the cancellation of the Congress for the Humanities and Social Sciences at Western.

This has a direct impact on the Journal of the Canadian Historical Association which publishes the best article-length works of original historical scholarship arising out of the annual conference of the Canadian Historical Association and made available to its Editorial Board. Nevertheless, the Editors have also accepted submissions that were not presented at the CHA Annual Meeting in the past. This practice of accepting submissions other than papers presented at the Annual Meeting is now necessary under the present circumstances. Thus, the JCHA would be pleased to receive submissions of articles on any topic in History, in either English or French. You may submit your proposal at any time here.
Articles submitted before the end of August will receive full consideration for publication in the 2020 issues.

We look forward to reading your text.
Many thanks,
