The Journal of the Canadian Historical Association / Revue de la Société historique du Canada is published by the Canadian Historical Association with the financial assistance of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and is a continuation of the earlier series, Annual Reports and Historical Papers of the Canadian Historical Association (1922-1965) and Historical Papers (1966-1989).
Call for Papers: “Insiders and Outsiders” for the Journal of the Canadian Historical Association
The editors of the Journal of the Canadian Historical Association invite submissions for papers on the theme of “Insiders and Outsiders” to be delivered at the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Historical Association, 16-18 May 2022. This conference will be held virtually as part of the 2022 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
We welcome papers that focus on any time period and geographical location, from both early career researchers and established scholars. Papers may address such themes as the impact of historical borders and boundaries, centres and margins of a society, and processes of exclusion or marginalization. We especially welcome submissions from scholars who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Colour.
Papers should be no more than 20 minutes in length and may be delivered in either English or French. Presenters will be encouraged to submit their papers for publication in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the Canadian Historical Association.
Please submit an abstract of no more than 250 words along with a CV of 1-2 pages to Mairi Cowan, at firstname.lastname@example.org, by 1 December. Notifications for acceptance will be sent out soon after the due date, so that authors whose submissions have not been selected will have time to resubmit their proposals to the general Canadian Historical Association Call for Papers.
You may also submit a proposal to the JCHA at any time here.
The JCHA is included with a CHA membership
