The History of Medicine and Healthcare Program, launched by AMS in 2015, is designed to promote scholarship, teaching and public interest in history of healthcare, disease and medicine. AMS has two goals for this program:
To identify and promote activities designed to broaden the scope of research, teaching and public interest in the history of healthcare, disease and medicine.
To stimulate new research initiatives, interest and appreciation of the history of healthcare/medicine/disease, among the research community, healthcare professionals and students.
This year AMS will offer three funding opportunities to support these goals. Research Nova Scotia is hosting the call for proposals for all three opportunities on behalf of AMS. More information about each can be found below.
AMS Doctoral Completion Award
$25,000 to support full-time doctoral students in the humanities or social sciences complete their dissertation on a history of medicine/healthcare topic.
