For the first time ever, the CHA will give out an annual teaching award at the 2020 meeting in London, Ontario. Unlike other teaching awards given by universities, these are unique in that they are historical-studies-specific and devoted to recognizing excellence in teaching with primary sources. Two $250 prizes will be given, one in an “early or alternative career” category (wherein the recipient will have taught at least 3 courses featuring primary source engagement), and the other in an “open career state” category (wherein the recipient will have taught at least 7 courses featuring primary source engagement).
Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know who deserves recognition for their teaching excellence! The due date for nomination packages is Dec 31, 2019 and the stipulated contents for the packages is very flexible so please do consider applying.
For more information, please see our CHA Prizes website or our previous post announcing the award.
