My love of history gave me the passion I needed to graduate top of my class, with my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Nipissing University. I obtained a position at Nipissing University in the Academic Advising office right after I graduated and worked as an Academic Advisor from 2001-2012. The skills I honed and developed during my history degree, namely the ability to analyze, interpret and apply information, served me well in this position. Furthermore, it allowed me to move into a special projects role in 2012 working for the Vice-President, Academic and Research, to develop and implement an entire new degree structure for undergraduate studies. The numerous papers written and presentations given throughout my honours history degree proved indispensable to me in this position.
Currently, I hold the position of Associate Registrar, Curriculum & Advising, where I oversee the management of the Academic Advising office, as well as facilitate all curriculum development for each faculty at Nipissing University. I love my job because on a daily basis I have the opportunity to research, analyze and explain policies and regulations. I have been employed at Nipissing University for 15 years now and it has flown by. I can’t wait to see what is in store for me in the next 15!
