Canada’s History is currently seeking the best community projects – completed in the past 18 months – for the 2025 edition of the Governor General’s History Awards for Excellence in Community Programming. These awards recognize programs and projects developed for the community by organizations dedicated to history, heritage, culture, or community life.
Eligible projects include public and virtual conferences, forums, exhibitions, multimedia presentations, conservation or commemoration projects, or public programs such as outreach programs, participatory workshops or festivals.
Two awards of $2,500 each – one in a French-speaking community and one in an English-speaking community – will be presented at a memorable ceremony.
